World Series Parade

So as a follow up to our late night celebration there was a parade to attend. Daniel seemed a little overwhelmed by the crowds but I bet when he is older he will think it was pretty cool that he was there. Daniel spent a lot of the time on Poppop's shoulder's where all the players could wave at him.

Phillies Win the World Series!

While I have been waiting (not very patiently) 25 years for a Championship Daniel only had to wait 11 months. After a 2 day rain delay for game 5 the Phillies completed their playoff run with a Game 5 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. Daniel and I were staying in town for a couple days while Kyle was at a client so we were watching the game with Poppop, Mommom, Aunt Debra, Uncle Jason and Aunt Tracy. We were all very excited when the game ended in victory and our celebrating woke Daniel. SO, we bundled him up in Phillies gear and took to the streets. We went out to the corner and waved at honking cars and then settled into a table at the corner bar/restaurant for a celebratory drink. Mommom ran home to grab a bottle and some Cheerios. I am pretty sure Daniel thought we were all nuts the way we were carrying on "in the middle of the night" (it was only 9:30) but he was pretty excited about the late night snack. He was eating his Cheerios by the fistful.

11 Months

Wow, Daniel is now just one month shy of his first birthday. It seems like he is growing up so fast. Daniel is doing great. Every day he learns new things. Like for example, when he is going towards something he isn't allowed to do he says "no, no, no" therefore warning us that we should intercept him before he gets there. His vocabulary is expanding a little bit, he is definitely imitating noises he hears like up, down, open, close. He also now points at things he wants. He is slowly learning to communicate what he wants to us. Daniel also sings. His favorite is the Elmo's World song. If we start with the La la la's he will keep it going. That is his favorite segment of Sesame Street and watching his face light up when it comes on is priceless. He mostly only pays attention to the tv when there is music, he likes the songs and he bounces up and down dancing. Daniel is exploring new foods all the time. His favorites right now include anything that he can feed himself and he always wants whatever I am eating. He tends to reject baby food if he thinks there might be something better around although I can usually get him to eat it with the promise of Cheerios. This month he mastered getting the rings back onto the ring stacker and is starting to figure out how to put shapes into a shape box. He also learned to pull all the Tupperware out of his Mommom's cabinets. Daniel loves to read books. We have a couple books now with flaps that open and shut and he thinks that is so much fun. Daniel is still just taking tentative steps on his own but if he has something to hold onto like a push toy or my walker he can go all the way across the room on his own. I think any day now he is just going to take off on his own.

Visiting Great Bubbie

Daniel and I took a trip with his Bubbie to visit Great Bubbie at the assisted living. We hadn't seen her in a while so it was a nice visit. There were even dog's there that Daniel got to play with.

L'Shanah Tovah

Wishing everyone a Sweet New Year. Today Daniel attended his first synagogue service. We went to the family service at Main Line Reform Temple where both Kyle and I grew up. Daniel and I were joined by Bubbie and Mommom and Poppop and Daniel had a great time crawling back and forth on our laps. Because it was a family oriented service there was lots of singing and Daniel bopped along to the music as well as joining in on the singing. He flirted with the little girl in front of us who appeared to be about his age, not sure what they were talking about (maybe he was bragging about what great bottles his mommy makes:-)). Then we had everyone over to our house for a great break fast dinner.

Congrats to Uncle Gabe and Aunt Francine

Daniel is going to be a cousin!!! We are so excited that Aunt Francine will be having a baby in April. Daniel is looking forward to introducing his new cousin to all his favorite things like Elmo and Cheerios:-)
