Aunt Debra and Uncle Jason are expecting a baby BOY expected to arrive on or around September 1!! Wow, 3 Goldenberg girls and 3 baby boys!! Poppop will be all set for his future golf foursome:-)
Another amazing dinner put on by the Wayne Wylen's!! It is always so wonderful to all be together although it seems to be getting more crowded every year with new spouses and now new babies that seem to be popping up each year! The 2nd night was hosted here at our house and even though Mommy did all the work Daniel seemed to be tired out after all the excitement! Since Daniel is vying for the pickiest eater ever award Passover was a little rough but he did enjoy drinking "chicken juice" otherwise known as chicken broth in a cup!
The following week we got to have a nice afternoon with Cousin's Alys, Shoshana and Avi along with Aunt Cheryl. They met up with us at Poppop's office where Shosh had a dental appointment, we had lunch at Aunt Rebecca's followed by some serious fun on the playground. It is so nice to see Daniel and Avi running around acting crazy together. We only wish they could do it more often. Back at Aunt Rebecca's after the playground we had a visit with Poppop Joe and Mommom Ev along with Avi's Nana Cheryl. The boys invented a "game" that basically involved chasing each other back and forth across Rebecca's house and essentially the 2 of them ran and ran and ran for a several hours, they were seriously worn out after that! We can't wait until Avi's sister is born this summer and we get to meet her too!
Baby Noah is doing great. We were so excited to hear that he would be coming home from the hospital. Daniel has been anxiously awaiting his chance to meet his baby cousin since the NICU is no place for a 2 year old (especially one that goes to daycare 2 days a week). Daniel got to meet Noah for the first time on his weekly Wednesday trip to Mommom's house. Although I think he is a little nervous about not always being the center of attention anymore he is being a good big cousin so far. I know deep down he is just scheming about the day he and Noah can start getting into trouble together causing Aunt Rebecca and I many hours of anxiety!
We had a wonderful trip this week to Boca Raton. We stayed with GG but also visited with Poppop Joe and Mommom Ev, as well as some other friends who live in the area. Everyone kept apologizing for the cold weather but compared to the feet of snow we left behind we thought the weather was just fine. We visited a nature preserve where I had promised Daniel we were going to see animals. Too bad that the turtles, snakes, fish and sharks we saw didn't count. He was hoping for lions, tigers, goats and cows. Guess next time we'll have to hit the zoo!! We also got a chance to swim in GG's pool. It took Daniel a while to get used to the water but he was getting pretty brave by the time we got out. It was very nice to get away for a couple days, especially in the winter.
This winter has been crazy here in Philadelphia. Many winters we get nothing but a flurry but this winter we are really getting slammed. For example, this weekend we got about 2 feet of snow! The scary part is we are expecting more later in the week. Here are some pictures and video's of Daniel and the snow.
Daniel has on occasion sat on the toilet but nothing has ever happened while he was there. We have a ring to go on the grownup toilet with Elmo on it so he likes the idea of sitting there. Sometimes he tells me he needs to poop on the potty to try and delay bedtime. This morning while we were getting dressed he went and got his potty seat and told me he wanted to pee on the potty. So we went in the bathroom, I put him on there and VOILA he went!! Very exciting!! Although I am not quite ready for full time potty training yet. It was a happy step in the right direction:-) His favorite part is the toilet paper and then getting to flush!
This blog is to document the development of our son Daniel. He was born on November 28, 2007 weighing in at 6 lb 9 oz and 20 1/2 inches. I can't wait to see how he grows.
